Since its founding in 1996, Community Healthcare of Texas – Providence Hospice has grown to become the largest not-for-profit hospice and palliative care organization in the state of Texas. Created through the shared vision of its leaders, Community Healthcare of Texas was built with a clear mission: to provide the highest-quality end-of-life care services for both children and adults in the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Waco communities.
Today, Community Healthcare of Texas – Providence Hospice provides care in 25 counties across North-Central Texas, offering hospice services wherever patients call home. Through partnerships with Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco and numerous nursing facilities, the hospice also provides inpatient care for those requiring more intensive symptom management or respite for caregivers. Its long-standing commitment to excellence is reflected in its accreditation by the Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP) since 2003, a recognition that affirms its compliance with the highest national standards of quality.
We partnered with Community Healthcare of Texas – Providence Hospice to create two tailored hospice guides: one for the Community Healthcare of Texas location in Fort Worth and the other for its Providence Hospice location in Waco. The result was two separate—yet stylistically and structurally consistent—clear, accessible, and compassionate guides designed to support patients and families, while highlighting the wide array of services available.
So, what’s included? From myths vs facts about hospice and choosing palliative care services, to advance directives and care for the caregiver, to Medicare hospice benefits, Social Security benefits, and veterans’ benefits, our guides are comprehensive resource tools designed to inform, educate, and provide peace of mind to patients and their families. The guides emphasize the belief that hospice care improves quality of life for as long as life remains, and that patients and families deserve care tailored to their individual needs, traditions, and cultures.
The collaboration with Community Healthcare of Texas – Providence Hospice underscores how tailored, compassionate communication can strengthen a hospice’s connection to its community. As Community Healthcare of Texas continues to expand its mission of care for both adults and children, we look forward to producing future editions that reflect its enduring promise to provide comfort, dignity, and hope to families across North-Central Texas.
