Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of the Treasure Coast has long been a cornerstone of compassionate care in its community. With a mission rooted in family-centered support, the organization provides patients and their families with the tools, knowledge, and care necessary to navigate life-limiting illness.
Central to their mission is a team approach: patients are surrounded by a coordinated group of professionals including the hospice medical director, hospice nurses, counselors, chaplains, music therapists, aides, volunteers, bereavement counselors, and so much more. Each member of a patient’s care team plays a vital role in ensuring they receive not only excellent medical care, but also that they receive emotional, spiritual, and holistic support throughout their journey.
Our hospice guide, created in collaboration with VNA Treasure Coast, brought together all of VNA’s core services and support systems in one beautifully designed and easy-to-navigate format. Sections were carefully crafted to showcase the team-based approach to care, highlighting the role of each member of the care team, as well as practical resources for caregivers managing day-to-day responsibilities, including training in hygiene, mouth and skin care, nutrition, hydration, and other essential skills. Information on medication safety, emergency planning, and funeral arrangements ensure that no part of the journey is left unaddressed.
At the heart of VNA’s services is the VNA Hospice House, a treasured community resource that provides around-the-clock nursing care for those who need it most. Families find comfort in the sky-lit reflection room, formal dining spaces, gathering areas, and the 4.2 acres of lush gardens with multiple meditation areas, offering an environment of peace and serenity for patients and caregivers alike.
By balancing clinical information with a tone of warmth and reassurance, the guide is more than an informational booklet—it is a reflection of VNA’s mission to walk alongside families through every stage of the hospice experience with care and compassion. Physicians and community partners also benefit from a resource that simplifies communication and reinforces the breadth of VNA’s services. The partnership between VNA Treasure Coast and Partner Plus Media has laid the foundation for ongoing collaboration in supporting patients, caregivers, and the wider community. The guide stands as a testament to VNA’s commitment to dignity, comfort, and education, ensuring that families never feel alone in their journey.
